Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 7, 2026

These terms govern your use of SilverBullet+ (“the app”), built and maintained by Zef Hemel (“we”, “us”).

Acceptance

By downloading or using SilverBullet+, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, do not use this application.

The app

SilverBullet+ is a native desktop application that wraps the open source MIT-licensed SilverBullet engine. It runs locally on your machine and stores your data as files on your filesystem.

Your data

Your notes and files are stored locally on your machine. We do not have access to your data. You are responsible for backing up your files. If you enable sync with a remote server, you are responsible for the security and availability of the server you decide to sync with.

License

SilverBullet+ is proprietary software offered in two tiers:

  • Free — the app may be installed and used free of charge for personal and educational use.
  • Pro — a paid subscription that permits work-use as well as some (minor) feature unlocks. The specific Pro feature set may change over time.

The open source SilverBullet engine that powers the app is licensed separately under its own open source license.

You may install and use SilverBullet+ on any number of personal devices. You may not redistribute, reverse engineer, or modify the app binary.

Accounts

A SilverBullet+ account is required to purchase or manage a Pro subscription. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and for the security of access to your inbox, since login is performed via magic link. One account per person; please don’t share access. Multiple licenses can be purchased on a single account, granting 1 person access per license. See our Privacy Policy for what we store.

Subscriptions and billing

Pro is sold as a recurring subscription. Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as the merchant of record and is responsible for tax collection and remittance.

  • Renewal — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Cancellation — you can cancel at any time through the account dashboard or Paddle’s customer portal. After cancellation, Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period.
  • Refunds — you may request a full refund within 14 days of any new purchase or renewal, no questions asked. Contact us at the address below.
  • Failed payments — if a renewal payment fails after a reasonable retry window, the subscription will be marked inactive.
  • What happens when a subscription ends — your account remains, and the app continues to work. Pro features become locked again until you resubscribe. Your notes and files are unaffected since they live on your machine.
  • Price changes — we may change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified in advance and changes will only apply to subsequent billing periods.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service: don’t attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts other than your own, don’t automate or stress the magic-link login flow, and don’t resell or sublicense access to a Pro subscription.

Updates

The app may check for and download updates automatically. We may release updates that change functionality, fix bugs, or address security issues.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland.
